Consent & Lawful Use
Under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (DPDP Act), we process your personal data only for a lawful purpose, and mainly with your consent. When we ask for consent we tell you what data we want and why, and how to withdraw consent or make a complaint. You can withdraw consent at any time; it will be as easy to withdraw as it was to give. If you withdraw, we stop using the data for that purpose and delete it unless a law requires us to keep it.
- To run your account: profile, skills, availability, workspaces, allocations, and paid engagements you choose to enter.
- Security and fraud prevention: keeping accounts and payments safe.
- Legal duties: tax, payment, and other records we must keep under Indian law.
- Optional: marketing messages and non-essential cookies, only with your consent.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with project owners and team members within authorized workspace contexts, or to comply with applicable legal obligations.
Organization & Multi-Tenant Data
Organizations (companies, teams, and project owners) control the workspace data they manage on goCofwe, including member rosters, opportunities, assignments, and commercial terms. For that workspace data, the organization acts as the data controller and goCofwe acts as the processor, handling it only on the organization's documented instructions and its members' use of the platform. For your personal account and profile data, goCofwe acts as the controller. Organization administrators can export or remove workspace member data; members retain rights over their personal profiles as described below.
Retention, Deletion & Account Closure
We keep personal data only while your account is active or as needed for legitimate legal, tax, and dispute purposes. Payment and transaction records are retained for the periods required by applicable financial regulation. A category-level Data Retention Schedule is currently in preparation with legal counsel; until it is published, deletion follows the rule below rather than fixed per-category timelines.
- On request: you can delete or export your profile data from Settings, or by emailing us. Deletion removes your public profile and personal data from active systems within 30 days.
- Account closure: closing your account ends your access to workspaces. Records of completed contracts, payments, and disputes are kept as required by law, then deleted.
- Workspace content: deliverables and messages inside an organization workspace are retained under that organization's instructions; contact the organization administrator for workspace-level deletion.
Cookies & Analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies for authentication and security. Any analytics or marketing cookies are used only with your consent, and we honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals.
Automated Decision-Making & AI
goCofwe matches specialists to opportunities using rule-based criteria you control (skills, availability, reputation history). We do not use automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects, and we do not currently use generative AI to evaluate people. If AI-assisted features are introduced, this section will be updated before they launch.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard encryption, token-based identity verification via Supabase, and role-based access control to protect your personal and workspace data.
Your Rights and Choices
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, you can ask us for a summary of the personal data we process and who we share it with, ask us to correct, complete, update or erase your data, withdraw consent, and nominate another person to exercise these rights if you die or cannot act for yourself. Use Settings, or write to the Grievance Officer below. We aim to answer within the time set by the DPDP Rules, 2025 (currently 90 days). If you are not satisfied with our reply, you can complain to the Data Protection Board of India once it is operational.
If Something Goes Wrong
If there is a personal data breach, we will tell the Data Protection Board of India and each affected person, in plain language, as the law requires.
Where Your Data Is Processed
goCofwe is built for users in India. Our cloud and payment providers (for example Supabase, Vercel and Razorpay) may store or process data on servers inside or outside India. We transfer personal data outside India only where Indian law allows it (the DPDP Act allows transfers except to countries the Central Government restricts). goCofwe is operated by Fahmin Fayas.
Age Restrictions
goCofwe is a professional marketplace and is not directed at minors. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. The DPDP Act treats anyone under 18 as a child and requires a parent's verifiable consent before processing a child's data, so we do not allow child accounts. If you believe a minor has registered, contact us and we will remove the account.
Grievance Officer & Contact
For any question or complaint about your personal data, write to our Grievance Officer, Fahmin Fayas, email [email protected]. We acknowledge a complaint within 24 hours and aim to resolve it within 15 days (the shorter of the timelines in the IT Rules, 2021 and the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020).
